Astm B232 Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced Overhead Line
1. APPLICATION
Steel Reinforced Aluminium Conductor used as bare overhead transmission conductor and as primary and secondary distribution conductor and messenger support. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.

3. CONSTRUCTION
(1) Steel part: Zinc- coated steel wires, one wire or multi-wires concentric stranded
(2) Aluminium part: Hard drawn aluminium wires, concentric stranded
ACSR conductors are formed by several wires of aluminium and galvanized steel, stranded in concentric layers. The wire or wires which form the core, are made of galvanized steel and the external layer or layers, are of aluminium. The steel core may consist of a single strand or a concentric stranded cable of 7, 19, 37, or more wires. Numerous combinations of aluminum and steel strands and layers are possible.
